This article explains how to find your website hosting provider and determine who is hosting your website. If you're unsure where your website is hosted, follow the steps below to identify your hosting provider.
Step 1: Check Whether Your Website Is Hosted with Internic
- Log in to your Internic account.
- Select Products.
- Select Hosting.
If you see an active hosting package associated with your domain, your website is likely hosted with Internic.
If you do not see a hosting package, continue to the next step.
Step 2: Find Your Website's IP Address
If your website is not hosted with Internic, you can identify its IP address using a DNS lookup tool.
- Visit DNSChecker.org.
- Enter your domain name.
- Select the A record.
- Note the IP address returned.
Step 3: Identify the Hosting Provider
Once you have your website's IP address:
- Visit MXToolbox ARIN Lookup at https://mxtoolbox.com/arin.aspx.
- Enter the IP address from Step 2.
- Review the organization associated with the IP address.
This will usually identify the company or network hosting your website.
Alternative Hosting Lookup
If you're unable to identify your hosting provider using the steps above, you can also try a website hosting lookup tool such as hosting-checker.net.
Note: Third-party hosting lookup tools use publicly available information and may not always identify the hosting provider accurately. The results should be used as a guide and verified where possible.
Things to Keep in Mind
The IP address may belong to a cloud provider rather than the company that manages your website. For example, your website may be hosted on infrastructure provided by:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Microsoft Azure
- Google Cloud
- Cloudflare
In these cases, the IP address may not identify the company that manages your website.
If you're still unsure who your hosting provider is, you can also:
- Review your hosting invoices or billing statements.
- Check your email for hosting purchase or renewal confirmations.
- Ask your website developer or IT administrator.
- Contact the company that manages your website.
