An IPS tag, also known as a registrar tag, identifies the registrar responsible for managing a .UK domain registration. It is used when transferring a .UK domain between registrars..
If you need our IPS tag to transfer your domain to us, you must start the domain transfer through your account first.
1. Start the domain transfer
Log in to your account and start the domain transfer process for your .UK domain.
If you're prompted to enter an authorization code (Auth/EPP code), enter any placeholder text in this field (for example, 123abc), as .UK domain transfers use an IPS tag instead of an authorization code.
2. Contact Support
After starting the transfer, contact our Support team and provide:
- The domain name.
- Registrant contact information.
- Administrative contact information.
- Technical contact information.
- The nameservers you would like the domain to use.
Additional information may be required depending on the domain and registrant.
3. Wait for confirmation
We will prepare the domain for the incoming transfer and provide you with the IPS tag when it is ready.
4. Update the IPS tag with your current registrar
Once we provide the IPS tag, update the domain's IPS tag through your current registrar.
After the IPS tag has been updated, the domain transfer can proceed.
