A domain move is fast, simple, and free.
Note: A domain move places the domain in another Internic account. If you are looking to transfer your domain registration to another registrar, please see our article How do I transfer my domain to another registrar? |
To move a domain from one Internic account to another, please follow these steps:
Step 1.
Ensure you have the username for the account to which you are moving the domain.
Step 2.
Log into the account that currently contains the domain and enter the Domain Manager.
Step 3.
Check the box to the left of the domain name, then click the drop-down arrow beside the Edit button and select Move.
Step 4.
Under Move to Another Internic Customer, enter the username for the recipient account and click Search.
Step 5.
Toggle the bubble next to the account you want to move the domain to and click Move to this Customer.
Step 6.
Under Confirm Domain Move ensure you are moving the domain into the correct account, then click I Confirm. Please note that if the receiving account does not have all their contact information filled in the domain move will be unsuccessful.
Once confirmed, the domain will be moved immediately. The domain's current contact information and DNS settings will also be moved. After you submit your request to move the domain you will see a message that either confirms the move or informs you of an error. If you encounter an error please contact our Customer Experience Team for assistance. If the account that currently holds the domain and the receiving account have the same email and/or username, please change your username for the receiving account before attempting the move. Otherwise you may receive an error message saying "the current customer and selected customer are identical."
Note: If your domain has a subscriptions or services such as hosting or privacy it cannot be moved until those subscriptions or services are temporarily cancelled. You can turn off Privacy Protection in your Domain Manager, and you can suspend your hosting packages in your Hosting Manager. These services can be re-activated as soon as the domain has been moved into the new account, including any hosting packages cancelled with 'end of term deletion'. As long as the new account administrator activates hosting before the end of term, there will be no service interruption to the website or e-mail. If you have Plesk hosting, please let our Customer Service Team assist you with the migration of your hosting package from one Internic account to another. |
