Overview
When you register a new domain name, processing time depends on the top-level domain (TLD) extension, the domain tier, and any specific registry validation rules.
Most domain purchases—including standard extensions like .com, .ca, and various top-level domains (TLDs)—process instantly and become active in your account immediately after purchase. However, certain country-code TLDs, premium domains, or specific registry configurations require manual setup and intervention.
Processing Times & Domain Types
| Domain Category | Examples | Expected Processing Time | Self-Service vs. Agent Required |
| Standard TLDs | .com, .ca, .net, .org, .info | Instant (Active immediately upon successful checkout) | Self-Service |
| Country-Code TLDs (ccTLDs) | .au (and select specialized ccTLDs) | Requires Manual Processing | Live Agent Required |
| Premium Domains | High-value / Tiered pricing domains | Requires Manual Processing | Live Agent Required |
| Pending / Missing Domains | Invoice received, but domain is missing from account | Requires Manual Verification | Live Agent Required |
