Overview

When running automated scripts or managing advanced web application tasks, you may need to set up scheduled background commands (Cron Jobs) or access the server's Terminal (SSH) interface.

On our hosting platform:

• Cron Jobs (Scheduled Tasks): Fully self-service via your Plesk dashboard.

• Terminal (SSH) Access: Requires assistance from a Live Agent for security and server-level verification.

Setting Up Cron Jobs (Scheduled Tasks) in Plesk

You can easily schedule automated scripts (such as running PHP commands or updating site databases) directly inside your Plesk control panel.

Steps to Create a Scheduled Task:

1. Log in to your account dashboard and access Plesk.

2. Select Websites & Domains from the top-left menu in your Plesk control panel.

3. Select your Domain Name and click on the Dashboard tab.

4. Locate and click on the Scheduled Tasks icon.

5. Click Add Task to configure a new scheduled command, set execution intervals (e.g., daily, hourly, or custom cron syntax), and save your settings.

Requesting Terminal (SSH) Access

For security purposes, standard terminal and command-line access is disabled by default on shared web hosting accounts.

If your web application requires command-line access (such as running Composer, WP-CLI, or specific server commands):

• Action: Connect directly with a Live Agent through this chat window.

• What to provide:

  1. Your Domain Name.

  2. The specific commands or tools you need to run (e.g., WP-CLI, Composer, Node commands).
