Overview
If people are reporting that emails sent to your business are bouncing back with an error stating "Mail Forwarding Loop Detected" or "Status 5.4.6", it means your Cloud Email account rules have accidentally created an unintended, endless circle.
To keep your account secure and prevent mailbox performance drops, our network infrastructure automatically intercepts and blocks these circular messages. Fortunately, you can fix this instantly right from your Internic account dashboard!
Understanding the Cloud Email Loop
This issue occurs when automated messaging rules conflict. For example, if Account A is set to forward to Account B, while Account B is simultaneously set to forward back to Account A, an email will spin between them endlessly in a fraction of a second until the server kills it.
How to Remove the Forwarding Loop in your Internic Account
To break the circle and restore your mail flow immediately, follow these steps to remove the conflicting forwarding target:
Log into your Internic Account Dashboard.
Click on Products in the top left corner of the screen.
Select Email from the middle options.
Find your email domain and click on Manage Subscription.
Look to the right-hand side (next to the Add Email User button) and click on Manage.
Find the specific email account that is causing the conflict, scroll to the very right-hand side, and click on Settings.
Click on the Forwarding tab.
The Fix: Remove the forwarding email address that is creating the circular loop, or uncheck the forwarding option entirely.
Save your changes.
Once saved, the loop is broken and your incoming Internic Cloud Email messages will be operational immediately!
