When you log in to your account, it is now mandatory that you be asked to enter a two-factor authentication (2FA) code for added security. This code is automatically sent to the primary contact information you have on file — usually your phone number (Unless otherwise set up with an application based method)
If you’re not able to receive the code on your phone, you can choose a different contact method instead. Simply follow the steps provided on the login screen to have the 2FA code sent to an alternative contact option.
To bypass the phone option and request a 2FA code via email:
Step 1
Please visit Internic.ca, in the top right corner of the website, click the "Sign In" button
Step 2
In the spaces provided, enter your Username and Password and click "Log In"
Step 3
The two-factor authentication screen will appear in a new pop-up window
The 2FA code will initially be sent to your phone number. After this, a 10-second timer will display on this screen. Before you can continue, you will need to allow this timer to run out
Step 4.
When the timer runs out, the previously greyed out text will now be selectable, and you can select either "Resend Code" or "Alternate Contact Methods". Select "Alternate Contact Methods"
Step 5.
This will open a new screen where you can select an alternative contact method outside of your phone number to which we can send the 2FA code. You are able to select the primary or alternate email contact on file.
If you only have one email address on file, the second option here will display "Alternate Email is not available on your account" and you will not be able to select this option
Step 6.
Select the email address to which you would like to send the 2FA code and click the "Email me a new code" button
Step 7
This will navigate you back to the 2FA login screen. Once you have received the code, you will now be able to input the code into the number slots and log in accordingly.
