The .XXX registry is legally required to reserve certain domain names as designated by ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), the organization that oversees global domain name policies.
In addition, the registry has classified some domains as premium names. These domains may be released at a later date through auction or at a fixed premium price, at the registry’s discretion.
Domain names in either of these categories are not available for standard registration.
